When Vlado and Sladjana Novakovic opened the doors to their first bakery
on Iverson Way nine years ago, they received a warm and enthusiastic
welcome from the Dilworth community. The encouragement from their
friends and neighbors in South End was the most important source of inspiration
for all their hard work during their first months in Charlotte. Neighbors dropped in to chat and sample the breads, and word spread quickly throughout the city about the little bakery that made the best breads in town.

As Nova's has grown, the Novakovics fondly remember the friendship and support Charlotteans have given them throughout the years. Ever encouraging questions, comments and suggestions from it's patrons and fellow business owners, Nova's looks forward to maintaining its strong bonds and friendships within the Charlotte area.
